Capital Concepts
Where common sense meets personal and business financial know-how.

Although Linda Horn managed to work through these seemingly dire circumstances to become president of a $6 million financial planning firm, she has not forgotten them. In fact, Horn, founder of Capital Concepts in Southwest Ohio, has made it her personal mission to help other women avoid winding up in such grave financial situations.

Greater Cincinnati Financial Advising Firm Launches ‘Operation: 61’

Capital Concepts Sets Target to Help Retirees Fix Financial Future

Cincinnati, OH — May 26, 3008—Recent reports indicate that nearly 33 percent of all Americans aged 61 and over currently hold less than $500 in combined savings and retirement, and the majority of those nearing a retirement, 77 percent, have no plan at all. One Greater Cincinnati retirement and investment firm is looking to offer their expertise, and has launched a new program aimed specifically at those in the retirement red zone – Operation: 61.

Capital Concepts CEO Linda Horn, who herself turned 61 on May 23, along with CC president Angie Strunk developed the program designed to get older adults on the right track toward a more stable retirement, away from overdependence on government assistance or from being forced to put off retirement. The firm hopes to help 61 Cincinnatians over the next 61 days who are or are nearing 61 years of age within the year, getting them on track with a proper budget, investment and retirement plan, and reduce their tax burden.

Those interested in participating, regardless of income, may sign up by calling 513.367.1793 or by logging on to www.capitalconcepts.net/operation61. Participants will be notified if they are selected for the program, and there is a nominal fee of $50 to cover education materials. A study to show how each participant improved will be published, providing a broad spectrum of learning for all future retirees.

“Entering the last few years of employment and preparing for retirement should be a joyous and pleasurable time and experience, not something to fear and dread,” Horn says. “And, as retirees, we don’t want to be putting undue burden on the next generation, and certainly not contributing to increased government entitlements, so this program will, at the very least, get folks planning and preparing for a more rewarding retirement through sound, common sense financial planning and counsel.”

Horn says she hopes to get a cross section of participants from a variety of income levels and retirement planning experience in order to gauge success rates and share best practices and learnings to others in similar financial situations.
